The Coffee Lab by Hala Tree Cafe, located in Ka’a’awa on the windward side of O’ahu, provides a unique and peaceful learning environment and comfortably accommodates groups of up to 12 participants. The Coffee Lab is equipped with a wide range of commercial and home brewing tools, roasting equipment, and other resources for hands-on learning and experimentation.

We're conveniently located downstairs from Hala Tree Cafe, where you can enjoy a delicious coffee and pastry and soak in stunning ocean views after your class or workshop.

Coffee Brewing Class
Whether you use a drip cone, French press, or Mr. Coffee, our brewing classes will give you the tools you need to improve the flavor of your coffee at home.

We'll explore how each element of the brewing process impacts coffee flavor, including filter type, water quality, coffee-to-water ratios, and even pouring technique.
Coffee Roasting Class
We offer roasting classes for every level from 1-hour introductory workshops, to multi-day professional roasting courses, and everything in-between!

Our classes are led by professional coffee roasters with decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry and include hands-on roasting experience on one of our Aillio Bullet roasters.
